12 | Major problems/prospects | Working hour is too high and difficult to get labour. Using first generation technology, when fourth generation technology is in progress. High level of physical strength and clumsy working conditions. are also taking away labour. It prevents women from working. Low productivity leads to low earning both for unit owners and workers and is a disincentive for continuing this trade. There are some ergonomic problems. No presence of technical institution and no linkage with any technical institution. Poor finish is a deterrent to go to market directly. Most of the workers are either illiterate or are having basic education. Units are situated within densely populated areas and working conditions are not hygienic. Infrastructure like arterial road, water supply, drainage system etc, is not well developed. |
