12 Major problems/prospects 90% of the SME s are engaged to catering the product in local market of Traders.
No variation in product mix, particularly product innovation/ diversification is absent.
Catering mostly to cost base market. No brand identity or organized marketing strategy exists in the cluster.
Old /obsolete technology very few SME s are having advanced weaving technology based looms.
Under utilization of capacities due to electrical supply problem.
Most of the units are involved to give their product to local market and Job work only so they do not know have any knowledge about market and hence have no product identity.
Also though the labor is available in cluster yet it is not regular or reliable.
The SME s literally get only the conversation cost, which is just sufficient enough to work out their monthly expenses after paying labors, which means that the profit is very marginal. The work culture is not of high standard and this puts the processors in problem as it ultimately leads to inferior quality fabric.
Most of the SME s do not have clarity about Techno economic operation of the unit.
Raw material seems to be one of the major concerns in the cluster.
There is no spg mill to provide the raw material for this cluster.
Yarn requirement is hence fulfilled by bringing the yarn from Panipat, Ludhiana for cotton open end yarn. There is no any dye house in the cluster which is able to make export quality fabric.
The units fully depend on merchant traders for their survival
