12 | Major problems/prospects | The basic problem is of procuring material and selling for which they have to depend on the traders. In the absence of the designing and material testing labs the artisan-based units are unable to ensure quality product. Due to obsolete technology & old machinery used in cluster, the quality is deteriorating & production is also affected. Wastage is high due to absence of technical training to the artisans. No R&D and testing labs available in the cluster hence products is loosing its image. There should be a separate section to improve marketing and export training for cluster. Lack of knowledge on export documentations and procedure as well as assistance of the consultant. |
