Unavailability of continuous power reduces working hours of artisans.
Lack of professional design BDS and new design interventions are completely under the control of traders. Product diversification yet to be introduced.
Exposure to high-end market is negligible and artisans are having marketing information only of the low end domestic markets.
Low wages and child labour is the predominant character of the cluster.
Low productivity and lack of technical support is the hurdle for the cluster and thus unable to meet market requirements.
Lack of nodal agency support and unable to build the brand image though quality of the product is moderately good.
Legal entity, credit availability etc. remain major issues with many artisans.
In vie of dominance of trading community artisans are dependent on them for job work orders and also designs. Artisans do not have direct access to the market.
Product and process technology interventions yet to be reached the artisans of the cluster.
Through the product comes handicrafts tab but VAT is the key problem and ultimately affecting the artisan income.
