12 | Major problems/prospects | The technology level of the cluster is very low.
Almost all the looms are plain looms (low technology) and very old machineries. The average age of the machines will be around more than ten years. Product diversification and obtaining good quality product is almost impossible The cluster gets very less domestic market and nil Export market. The production cost of the cluster becomes high since the technologies of the machines are very low and higher power cost. During the year 2004 nearly 200 mineral powder producing industries have been started in Beawar town. The wages given by these industries are comparatively higher than the power loom industries. This causes scarcity of labours in the Power loom cluster. At present there is no common facilities centre is there in Beawar. The cluster needs a Training and Testing centre to train the workers and to do testing of raw material, work in progress and finished goods. |
